Mustafina is an eclectic punk/psych female-fronted band from Brooklyn, started by three members of the Alternative Tentacles’ band Alice Donut (David Giffen, Michael Jung and Stephen Moses) and completed by vocalist Aubrey Smith and Slavic Soul Party bassist Chris Stromquist. Their musical style is rooted in the multifarious old-school NYC attitude of Alice Donut combined with Smith’s harder and acrobatic vocal style – sometimes heavy, sometimes grimy, and always supremely interesting.
Recordings are underway now for a sophomore album, and Tee Pee will release a single around festival time.
